Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula or Spoon
  • Airtight container

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp honey or 1 tbsp sugar for a subtle sweetness
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard optional, for creaminess and depth
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for a bit of heat

Instructions

  • Mince the garlic finely, and if you're using fresh lemon juice, squeeze it beforehand.
  • In a bowl or a mason jar, combine the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, and water. Add in the minced garlic, honey (or sugar), Dijon mustard (if using), and all the herbs and spices (oregano, basil, parsley, thyme, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes).
  • Whisk the dressing together until it's fully emulsified. If you're using a jar, close the lid tightly and shake it well to combine everything.
  • Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning to your liking. You can add more salt, pepper, or sugar/honey based on your preference for sweetness or tanginess.
  • For the best flavor, let the dressing sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the ingredients to meld together. Store in the fridge in a sealed container for up to a week.
  • Drizzle over your favorite salad or use it as a marinade for meats or vegetables.
