  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Measuring Cups And Spoons
  • Saucepan (if heating the eggnog)
  • Wooden Spoon Or Spatula
  • Serving glasses or mugs

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs separated
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Evan Williams Bourbon adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg plus more for garnish
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • Whipped cream optional, for topping

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Set the egg whites aside in a separate bowl.
  • Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat the egg yolks with ½ cup of the sugar until thick, pale, and creamy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Slowly add the whole milk, heavy cream, and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly until fully combined.
  • Gradually pour in the Evan Williams Bourbon, continuing to stir until it's fully incorporated.
  • In the second mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with the remaining ¼ cup of sugar until soft peaks form.
  • Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the eggnog base to create a light and fluffy texture.
  • Stir in the nutmeg and a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth and holiday flavor.
  • For traditional cold eggnog, cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least an hour before serving. If you prefer warm eggnog, gently heat the mixture in a saucepan over low heat until warmed through, but avoid boiling.
  • Ladle the eggnog into serving glasses or mugs. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg.
