Triple Delight Chinese Recipe

Triple Delight is a popular dish in Chinese-American cuisine that typically features a combination of three different proteins—often beef, chicken, and shrimp—stir-fried with vegetables in a savory sauce. The dish balances the textures and flavors of the proteins with vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, snow peas, carrots, and mushrooms.

  • Tongs
  • Colander
  • Serving Platter

Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1/2 lb chicken breast sliced
  • 1/2 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb beef sirloin sliced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp garlic minced
  • 2 tsp ginger minced
  • Cooking oil for stir-frying

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
  • Heat a tablespoon of cooking oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Now add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until it’s cooked through. Remove and set aside. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil and stir-fry the beef until browned.
  • Finally, add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add a bit more oil if necessary. Add the broccoli, water chestnuts, and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Return the cooked proteins to the pan with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.
